Rémi Burdairon is a French photographer based in Cape Town, South Africa, who works mainly in black & white. His main centers of interest are people, patterns and places.
The photographic approach to the figurative work he creates is an attempt to recompose his monochrome vision of the ordinary world with shapes and light, to showcase a sense of order and harmony from his interactions with people and their environment.
An endeavor to capture the spirit of human nature and essence of natural places in everyday life in a state of timelessness.
His work has been praised by many industry experts, and has been included in several publications and group exhibitions. His recent public solo exhibitions include ”Double Exposures”, in 2019 in Johannesburg, and “Forbidden Horizons”, in 2021 in Cape Town, in collaboration with Fujifilm South Africa and Alliance Française.
His current portfolio, which features urban scenes, portraits and landscapes photographs, encompasses his personal vision, by combining the contrast of dual perspectives - opposing pure aesthetic versus hidden narrative - leading to multiple visual interpretations.
